Casa da Praia: Best Place To Stay In Candolim, Goa

During our travels in India we wanted to enjoy some beach time in Goa. After visiting Arambol beach, we decided to see Candolim; mainly because Michael found in during a quick online search. When he showed me the pictures of the hotel, I was immediately in! We wanted to have a place for three days where we could purely relax before we headed out on our next trip to Hampi. Casa da Praia seemed to be the perfect place. We were lucky and there was one room left, so we booked

Checking in at Casa da Praia

As soon as we opened the back door it seemed as if we entered an entire different world. We were warmly welcomed by the owners, Sophia and Paul. This place is fantastic! At the entrance, there's a table surrounded by fans where the morning guests can enjoy their breakfast. Also the hosts provide daily newspaper. The breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were happy to provide lunch or dinner suggestions. My favourite lunch suggestion was the vegetarian restaurant, Shree Ganga. Sophia and Paul will be glad to help you find your way there. There are mostly no tourists there and the food is superb (try out Special Thali!).

The rooms

I enjoyed our room a lot. Each room has different details and accessories, and I really got the feeling that the hosts had taken their time to handpick each of them by themselves. it had such a personal touch and it felt like a home. When you travel through India, you quickly notice that it's not like in other parts of the world where you mostly find comfy mattresses. In fact, it's the opposite. At Casa da Praia we found the most comfortable mattress. We both slept so good in the bed. It's just a great place to relax and get your energy back.

Outside of the room was a little table and two chairs which was perfect for enjoying a glass of Indian wine, which you can buy in the grocery store. From upstairs, the view over the pool and the garden is stunning. Everyone is so nice at Casa da Praia. All of the staff and the hosts always have a warm smile on their faces.

The pool

The pool is also fantastic! We spent an entire day hanging out at the pool in the lounge chairs. Sometimes, all you need is a good book and some sun. The staff at the hotel took good care of us and even came by at the pool to check on us what drinks we'd like.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa da Praia. If you are looking for a place to relax with a pool and a beach at the same time, I can highly recommend this place. Make sure you book early enough, the place is usually booked out.
